The Role:


This role reports to the Head of FP&A and has responsibility for a variety of significant FP&A Projects. The projects will allow you to develop a strong understanding of the financial and client databases/systems within MSI, and use your excellent data analysis skills to carry out analysis and create Excel-based tools that can be utilised by our operational teams to support them with strategic and operational decision making.


The ideal candidate will be an inquisitive financial analyst who is comfortable offering critical insights from large data sets. You will be well-versed in translating the complexity that this data contains into a narrative that speak to audiences ranging from Country Programme operational staff to Board-level. You will be open-minded and have a creative streak that will lead you to consider new solutions to support future global strategies. You will be experienced in creating user-friendly Excel-based tools, and be consistently customer-focussed to ensure that these tools speak to users’ operational needs. Ability to manage competing projects is essential.


This is an exciting new role for a financial analyst to operate at the intersection of financial and strategic operations.

About you

To succeed in this role, you must have:

Skills and Experience:

  • Excellent numerical, analytical and data visualisation skills using Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Effective communicator in writing and in person, both to peers, operational staff and an Executive team/Board audience.
  • Ability to present simple conclusions from complex datasets essential.
  • Excellent organisational skills and ability to juggle multiple pieces of work simultaneously.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Business experience either in a commercial or not-for-profit environment.
  • Significant financial analysis experience, including the building of financial models in Excel.
  • Experience of leading finance projects from design to rollout/completion
  • Significant Finance Systems experience
  • Experience of working to tight deadlines and managing conflicting priorities.


Qualifications and Training:

  • Professionally Qualified (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, other) – essential.
  • Educated to degree level or equivalent (accounting or business degree desirable).
