Marie Stopes International operates through a network of channels (Clinics, Social Franchise, Marie Stopes community based Ladies and Outreach). This network is complemented by our Social Marketing operation which provides and supplies medical abortion and emergency contraception and other contraceptive and Sexual Reproductive Health products both within and outside our channels.

 

The Function:

The Procurement, Regulatory & Compliance Manager is part of the Global Supply Chain function. This function is a strategic activity within Marie Stopes International, aimed at ensuring availability of quality products at right cost in an efficient and effective manner.

The Global Supply Chain department is led by the Global Head of Supply Chain and Procurement. The Global Supply Chain department consists of a Procurement Team and the Supply Chain Team.

 

The Role:

Responsible for ensuring that the supplier and core product qualification project is delivered against the agreed timelines and reporting progress to all key stakeholders.

This position will also work with the country programmes identifying appropriate product innovations and strategies for Social Marketing, including support in registration process and product development when needed.

Ensuring that other suitable complimentary products for the Social Marketing product portfolio are identified, qualified and registered where needed.

To succeed in this role, you must have:

Skills and Experience:

  • Good Communicating & influencing: communicates clearly, verbally and in writing across the organisation & across all levels of the business. Can adapt communication to increase impact in different contexts. Experience of stakeholder management and strong communication skills
  • Good Team working: strong people leadership and influencing skills: ability to quickly and effectively build relationships and establish high degree of trust & respect and highly sensitive cross-cultural skills recognising the wide variation in supply chain and regulatory skills in emerging countries. Experience of strategic relationship building with suppliers and partners
  • High planning & organising skills: High level of ability to initiate and lead highly complex product registration strategies to support Social Marketing growth in the top 10 countries
  • Good problem resolution skills: recognises the challenges of low resource settings and can respond well with solutions that meet needs of global standards whilst meeting needs of country programmes. Good at testing alternatives to identify an optimum solution
  • Good business / financial acumen. Commercially astute: can use financial analyses (eg. supply chain P&L, cost & revenue drivers) to understand the financial impact of supply chain decision making
  • Experience of managing pharma registration projects throughout Africa and Asia 
  • Experience working directly with MoH in LMICs during filing and post filing of pharma registrations
  • Experience of reviewing product dossiers and working with suppliers to address deficiencies
  • Experience of managing pharmacovigilance obligations and reporting as required to suppliers
  • Experience with building and managing product portfolios for commercial programmes throughout Africa

 Qualifications and Training:

  • Educated to degree level, or equivalent experience (essential)
  • Sound supply chain management experience including strategic procurement and forecasting (desirable)
  • Fluent written and spoken English (essential)
  • IT literate (Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, etc) (essential)
  • Relevant professional procurement qualification, e.g CIPS (desirable)

  • Ability to speak/read French and/or Spanish (desirable)

Salary: £52,000 - £58,000 depending on experience
