The Role:

Based out of Bristol and reporting to GIS Head of Service Delivery, the successful candidate will be responsible for the support and maintenance of the team’s Infrastructure. In addition to providing technical expertise and new design contribution and sign off, he or she will also help with the definition of MSI’s digital strategy. The role includes people management of a small team of 2nd and 3rd line engineers who make up the technical BAU and Project resources.

 

About you

To succeed in this role, you must have:

Skills and Experience:

Coming from a high technical background and previously held a senior technical position, has at least 2 years in a team leader role.

Exposure to multiple, diverse configuration, technology and processing environments.

Excellent knowledge and experience across the following;

Technical

  • Networking security and architecture – Switching, Firewalls, loadbalancing.
  • Security products such as MFA / Web Proxy / eMail filtering.
  • PCI/ASV compliance.
  • Virtualisation - VMWare.
  • Microsoft Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, ADFS, SSO, Azure AD.
  • Windows Desktop and Server.
  • MS SQL Server.
  • Public cloud architecture and design – Azure and AWS.
  • Telephony/Call centre solutions, VOIP, SIPs, ISDN.
  • Storage – iSCSI, FC, FCOIP, NFS.
  • Office 365 and Sharepoint online.
  • Hyperconverged solutions.
  • Backup, DR and data protection.

Process and frameworks

  • ITIL v4 experience and understanding.
  • Security best practices.
  • Prince II project methodology.
  • Understanding of IT standards and controls.
  • Understanding and consideration of the bigger picture and longer term strategy.
  • GDPR and PCI compliance understanding.

 

Qualifications

  • A level or above education level.
  • CCNA / CCNP: Cisco Certified Network Associate/Professional. (Desirable)
  • MCSE: Microsoft Server. (Desirable)
  • People Management. (Desirable)
  • VMWare VCP (Desirable)
  • PRINCE II Fountation and Practitioner (Desirable)
  • NCDA or EMCISA (Desirable)
  • Microsoft Certified : Azure Administrator (Desirable)
