About Us:

Marie Stopes International is a global organisation providing personalised contraception and safe abortion services to women and girls. The primary responsibility of this role is to further MSI’s Goal: The Prevention of Unwanted Births and its mission of ensuring the individual’s right to: children by choice, not chance.

The Role:

Reporting to the Head of Digital Business Solutions, this role is key to the successful alignment of MSI’s technology portfolio with the overall business need.

The Business Analyst is responsible for undertaking an assessment of new technology requests (eg new business applications for capturing data and transactions in service provision, client interaction, supply chain, finance, HR etc; new mobile applications, and reporting and analytical tools) and consulting with business teams (in the GSO, MSUK and Country Programmes) to assess how the request supports our broader MSI strategy, to identify underlying business case, to assess whether are there any existing (or planned) solutions that could be reapplied, to assess how the request fits within the global data and systems map, and to challenge whether MSI has the capability and capacity to undertake the request and to understand the risk of doing/not doing it.

Further to the assessment (which is summarised in a project brief), the BA liaises with the Information Systems Governance Board (ISGB) to decide and agree on a course of action.

The involvement of the BA role then continues for projects that are approved by the ISGB - the BA’s analytical and process management expertise is key for the design phase of any significant project.
